The Navigation bar with the home symbol on top of every page provides a snapshot of Fracta’s services and applications available to you based on your utility’s subscription and shortcuts to Data, Assets, LoF, CoF, TotalRisk and Job Planner.
You can access the Data section through the dashboard directly, which shows the files containing your pipe data and historical breaks. As you upload a file onto the platform it goes through a cleaning workflow that normalizes the files in preparation for further insights and machine learning. This is the source data used to generate the features in the Assets tab.
You can upload multiple datasets from the import tab and you will have the option to switch between asset datasets using the 'Current Dataset' button located on the top right.
The Assets feature includes a map view, graphical visualization of your utility's pipe information, historical breaks and provides the ability to update your assets using the 'Update Assets' tab visible when you select/click on a pipe.
Here you will have the option to visualize your pipe network by install year, material, diameter and to display any break data locations from the toolbar options located at the top right of the map view.
Fracta implements this cutting-edge technology to calculate and visualize the LoF for every water main across your infrastructure. The LoF Score represents the mathematical probability of water main failure, leveraging existing data and hundreds of variables. LoF enables utilities to make better water main replacement decisions. Fracta’s LoF provides an objective, big data-driven method that is faster, more accurate and more affordable than other desktop and physical condition assessment methods.
CoF is a software application that determines the consequences, or severity, of failure and quantifies the direct and indirect dollar costs of water main failures, using a Triple Bottom Line (TBL) monetized approach. The CoF brings monetized risk into a utility’s toolkit, removing subjectivity from difficult decision making.
CoF analysis uses a configurable user interface for utilities to customize, visualize, and evaluate direct and indirect costs associated with the failure of their pipe assets. Examples include: repair costs, traffic disruption, water service, and other critical facilities.
LoF and CoF are used in the TotalRisk formula: LoF (%) x CoF ($) = TotalRisk ($). Fracta calculates a utility’s CoF in terms of direct and indirect costs. This approach gives an objective criticality score for the entire water distribution system. This score translates the results into financial terms water engineers, planners and finance professionals use to make decisions about buried water main infrastructure.
TotalRisk analysis combines the LoF and CoF to provide a comprehensive view into the true risks associated with the pipe network. The combined approach avoids paying too much attention to failing assets that have low consequence or vice versa.
The Job Planner allows you to create asset management plans that fit your unique circumstances. A plan consists of groups of projects chosen from a library of project scenarios. The cost settings associated with water main projects are flexible to fit any planned action, whether it is a replacement, rehabilitation, proactive leak detection, or physical condition assessments.
